Abstract

A simple and sensitive by-product spectrophotometric technique supported the zero-crossing technique victimisation 6-(2-naphthyl)-2,3-dihydro-1,2,4-triazine-3-thione(NDTT) for concurrent determination of Hg(II) and Pd(II) was developed. The chemical agent, NDTT, reacts with mercury and metallic element ions to make stable yellow and viridity complexes in basic media that is well extractible with chloroform.

The second order by-product absorbance with Dλ = thirty one.5 at 375.5 nm and 309.0 nm were elite for the determination of Hg(II) and Pd(II), severally. The absorbance of the complicated obeys Beer’s law within the concentration vary of 5-50 μg/mL and 2-35 μg/mL with r= zero.9982 and 0.9946 for Hg and palladium, severally.

The within-day and between-day variations showed constant of variation (%CV) values no more than a pair of.8% and 3.46% for Hg and palladium severally. The error of determination was but a pair of.40%.

The planned technique was fitly applied to an artificial and a tea sample with success and therefore the results were compared with atomic absorption method. The results showed that there was no important distinction between 2 strategies.
